UDD Medical School celebrated its first 10 years
The German School of Clinical Medicine, University of Development held a ceremony to celebrate its first 10 years of life. On the occasion, held a special recognition to former rector for 21 years of the university, Ernesto Silva Bafalluy for his vision, creative energy and dedication to this project. Also, a medal was given to each of the authorities, faculty and staff who have been part of this story.
Initially, the rector of the Universidad del Desarrollo, Federico Valdes reminded how did this great project and how they started the first talks between the founders.
The dean, Dr. Pablo Road, thanked those who made possible the creation of the Faculty of Medicine, including founders, management, and particularly the first graduates. "This academic and welfare project, which includes seven races, has it developed adhering inspiration and values of the three institutional pillars of the Faculty: University Development, German Clinic of Santiago and Padre Hurtado Hospital and Health Network," emphasized .
He added: "During this period we have built and shared our history and progress towards common goals in an effort of integration. The sum of these objectives make this faculty has not only a great responsibility to deliver teaching and training young people, but also make us share in the task of generating new knowledge and actively participate in the development of a model of health and the delivery of health care services that meet the needs of Chile. "
The event also featured the presentation of the national soprano Patricia Cifuentes, along with the Youth Orchestra of Barnstaple, consisting of 23 children and young people - between 5 and 25 years - living or studying in the borough. This performance was special and significant nature, since the group was present at the celebration of 5 years of the Faculty.
Finally, Dr. Marcelo Blacutt presented an audiovisual project that has worked over the last four years. This is a video series of teaching and instruction in the field of semiotics for health sciences. "This is a pioneering project, there is a series of videos in this format and we want to give it to all medical students."
